London Air iPhone App 3.0
News from the LAQN

King’s have today launched a free update to their popular London Air iPhone application.
Launched in March last year the application was a groundbreaking step in the provision of air quality information on mobile devices.
Featured on the iTunes App Store homepage for two weeks the application has been downloaded over 13,000 times gaining over 8,000 individual air quality alert subscribers.
Today’s update features faster data download speeds, improved map performance, access to the Sussex Air Quality Network and new statistics screens to allow users to see how a site has performed each year in relation to the air quality objectives.
Application designer Andrew Grieve said,
"With this update we wanted to build on the success of version 2.0 last year and try and give our users a bit more information about air quality in the capital while keeping the interface clean and simple. The addition of the statistics screen is important because it allows users to see how a site has performed over a longer period of time. We also realised that many people travel between Sussex and London for work and so we’re really pleased to be able to include access to the Sussex Air Quality Network in the app allowing users to check air quality from Enfield to Eastbourne"
Monitoring group manager Dr Gary Fuller said,
"This update will give Londoners new ways to learn about the air pollution around them. Over the coming months we will be launching an free android version enabling more people to access air pollution information wherever they are."
