Since the successful conference, ‘Chemical Sensors and Biochemical Sensors - Measurement to Control’ held by the Royal Society of Chemistry in May 2009, it is now considered appropriate for the follow up conference in October 2010 to address the state of art and recent developments in sensor technologies, with a focus on environmental monitoring.
Opportunities will be provided for Postgraduate PhD
students to give oral and poster presentations related to the theme of the conference. The interest and use of sensing techniques in environmental monitoring has grown rapidly in recent years enhanced by the potential for automation and remote at site measurements with low cost methodologies and miniature instrumentation. This conference offers a good opportunity to bring together scientists involved in this field to exchange experiences and thoughts about the new applications.
Specially invited speakers will each present an overview and discussion on the following topics:
- Emerging tools for monitoring chemical quality of water
- Trace vapour sensors
- Types of sensor systems
- Pollution monitoring of rivers
- Types of sensors and their application for environmental monitoring
- Total sensor systems Sensor array techniques
- Novel sensing systems
