Royal Society of Chemistry Christmas Conference - call for papers
News from the LAQN

2015 has seen many further developments across Europe relating to difficulties complying with air quality legislation, and re-evaluations of health effects from air pollutants, notably NO2. In parallel, there have been many developments in technologies that can help clarify which are the main contributors to air pollution, reduce emissions from specific sources, and reduce exposure to the public.

Building on the success of this long-running annual event, this conference will address these developments and the prospects that they offer for the future. As usual, the presenters will include internationally recognised experts at the national and European level, and there will also be opportunities for a range of contributed talks and posters, providing a broad and up-to-date survey of the measurement, regulatory and scientific issues affecting air quality.

The conference will be held in collaboration with Defra's Air Quality Expert Group, and will include sessions based on the topics AQEG are currently scoping, to help gather relevant evidence. These topics are Gasoline Direct Injection vehicle emissions; urban vegetation as a means of reducing exposure; and ultrafine particles and engineered nanoparticles.

The conference which will be held in London on 9th and 10th December 2015.
