New monitoring site ahead of the Games
News from the LAQN

A third new London monitoring site has been opened in the run up to the Olympic Games. The Lewisham Loampit Vale site began operation this week and is measuring NOX and PM10.

The site is located close to new residential developments, alongside the busy A20 as it passes through the centre of Lewisham. In addition to assessing residential exposure to road traffic pollution, the site will also monitor any local pollution impacts from planned redevelopment to the north of Loampit Vale. The new site complements Lewisham Council’s wider , which address both air pollution hotspots and public exposure across the borough at the Catford background site, the New Cross roadside site and the industrial monitoring site in Mercury Way.
