No sign of plume grounding from recycling fire in Dagenham.

On 12th August 2012 the London fire brigade reported that 200 fire fighters and 40 fire engines were at the scene of the largest fire in London for several years - at a recycling centre on Chequers Lane in Dagenham RM9. They were called at 13:15 and the fire was under control by 17:30.

While a plume was reported to be visible across some areas of London, there is no evidence of plume grounding from the London Air Quality Monitoring Network stations. During this time the wind changed direction from a eastsoutheast to southwesterly.

King’s College London are supporting the Health Protection Agency in analysing data for possible impact from this source.
