Sussex Air iPhone app is launched.
News from the LAQN

Today the Environmental Research Group at King’s have launched a version of their popular London Air iPhone app for Sussex.

The Sussex Air iPhone app displays the latest readings from the Sussex Air Quality Network in real time. Users can also subscribe be notified when pollution levels rise or fall in the region. It is the first and only environmental information application dedicated to the Sussex Region and one of only a few Sussex specific apps available on the App Store.

Application designer Andrew Grieve:

With Sussex Air we wanted to take everything that we’d learned from the London Air application and try to improve on it for our users in Sussex. We’ve improved the graphics and some of the layout to make the application easier to use but we’ve also added some important extra functions. Each site now has it’s own stats page so users can see how a site has performed each year in relation to the air quality objectives. And for those who travel to London for work we’ve included access to the London Air monitoring network so our users can check current air quality from Brent to Brighton.

ERG’s Monitoring Group manager Dr Gary Fuller added:

The Sussex region has its own air quality problems which are different to those in London. The Sussex Air website and Air Alert services are incredibly important resources for Sussex residents who are concerned about or interested in their local air quality. We hope this application will allow even more people to access and keep on top of Sussex’s air quality

This application was developed in conjunction with our colleagues at the Sussex Air Quality Partnership and we are grateful for their continued support.
