‘Invisible Dust’ a major new Art & Science collaboration project
News from the LAQN

King’s College is working with Invisible Dust an arts and environmental science organisation on a major new collaboration involving artists and scientists working together to engage and educate the public about air quality issues in London which is supported by the Wellcome Trust.

Over the last few months the project has staged fun and imaginative talks and hands-on events combining art and science which help kids and teenagers in London learn about and visualise the invisible pollution that surrounds us in our urban environment.

Previous workshops have included:

Barbican Youth careers day 7th March

Over 50 teenagers from schools within the five East London Olympic Boroughs (Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Newham, Greenwich and Waltham Forrest) attended Invisible Dust workshops at the Create Skills 2012 Careers Fair. Feedback was very positive from the young people and three of the schools involved would like to set up a new Invisible Dust/LAQN project.

Cambridge Science Festival Family workshops 19th March

Over 400 people took part in this fun all day event at the Cambridge Science Festival. Participants made ink drawings using their breath, made kazoos, had their lung volume measured and learned about air pollution measurement science in London.
