Emissions of NOX from the Paddington main line are a clear feature in the London Atmospheric Emissions Inventory and in the London-wide modelling. However the actual emissions from diesel trains on the line is subject to great uncertainty. Emissions from the trains are clearly of concern with many people in west London living close to the Paddington main line. The new Ealing 12 monitoring site has been installed to answer this important question. It is located to the north of the railway line, in a residential area close to Southall Station. The new site measures NOX and PM10.
