New monitoring site for Ealing
News from the LAQN

Ealing Borough Council has installed a new monitoring site, Ealing 10, in the north of the Borough in Greenford. It monitors PM10 particulate by TEOM.

The site is in a residential background location with significant local industry to the north, including a waste transfer site and cement batcher.

In contrast to the majority of air quality monitoring set up near waste transfer sites, such as the Ealing 8 site at Horn Lane, Acton, the Brent 5 site in Neasden and the Bexley 4 site in Manor Road, Erith, the site is not on the haulage route to and from the waste site. Therefore it is not expected to detect PM10 that gets re-suspended by traffic but instead would allow the assessment of possible impacts of fugitive PM10 from the industry itself.
