Air Analysis - out of the laboratory and into the field
News from the LAQN

Over the last ten years there has been a dramatic increase in the routine use of automated techniques for monitoring air pollution for both air quality management and research.

Recent developments, such as more robust and portable instrumentation, have enabled techniques once regarded as laboratory techniques to be used for field operations.

On 15th May 2008, the Royal Society of Chemistry's Automated Analytical Measurement Group are holding a one-day meeting in Teddington which will include presentations on the current state of techniques available or potentially available for automated use in the field.

Experience gained by using these techniques, particularly for regulatory purposes will also be covered. The presentations will be supported by an exhibition. There will also be an opportunity to visit the laboratory facilities at the National Physical Laboratory.
