Workshop on PM10 around Waste Transfer Sites
News from the LAQN

Both Bexley and Brent have been measuring elevated concentrations of PM10 close to waste transfer stations. The sources of the particulates are both on the site and off the site.

The London Boroughs of Bexley and Brent intend to set up an informal working group for local authorities who experience problems from airborne particulates around waste sites.

The primary aim of this group is to identify common dust problems experienced around waste sites and to identify possible solutions.

Obviously, the primary legislative control of these sites lies with the Environment Agency, and there is no intention to undermine their authority or their approach to control of dust at waste transfer and disposal sites.

If you are interested in attending, or wish to be involved in the group please contact jon.fox@bexley.gov.uk
