Conference - Particles and Photo-Oxidants in Europe

In light of the forthcoming European Directive on air quality, the Royal Society of Chemistry""s Automation and Analytical Measurement Group are holding an international conference on the 25th and 26th September 2007. The conference will focus on recent developments in our understanding of air pollution and monitoring strategies. Themed sessions will cover:

· The European perspective on air pollution and health - with speakers from the Commission, DEFRA and WHO.

· Practical air pollution measurement - with speakers from national and regional networks in Europe.

· Airborne particulate - including measurement methods, source apportionment and the characterisation of airborne particulate in both Europe and North America.

· Photo-chemical oxidants - including presentations on primary NO2 emissions and O3.

The conference will be of interest to those who are responsible for air quality monitoring and management, policy makers and scientists involved in environmental and health studies.
