London Low Emission Construction Partnership - website launch
News from the LAQN

King’s College London are launching a new website as part of the London Low Emission Construction Partnership (LLECP) to help the construction industry understand its impact on local air quality and encourage the uptake of 'best in class' pollution reduction measures.

The site, which is aimed specifically at users within the construction and demolition industry as well as local authority planners and pollution control teams, contains information on currently available and ‘best in class’ pollution reduction measures as well as advice on monitoring around construction and demolition sites.

The wider LLECP will also help to fund a number of evaluation projects at construction sites across London to determine the effectiveness and cost benefit of 'best in class' measures.

The website will also accommodate the Greater London Authority's (GLA) non-road mobile machinery (NRMM) register - the main tool for enforcing the world’s first NRMM low emission zone where only low pollution construction plant can be used from 1st September 2015.

LLECP is a collaboration between the 'Cleaner Air Boroughs' of Camden, Hammersmith and Fulham, Islington, Lambeth, Lewisham and Wandsworth, industry partners across the construction sector and King’s College London. The project has been funded by the GLA as part of the Mayors Air Quality Fund.
