Ealing Horn Lane monitoring station is affiliated to Defra AURN
News from the LAQN

The monitoring station at Horn Lane in Acton has recently been upgraded to include an FDMS PM10 instrument, funded and operated by Defra as part of the AURN.

The small monitoring cabinet has been replaced by a larger walk-in cabin to accommodate the additional instrument. This will report reference equivalent PM10 measurements to the European Commission and has been added to the network following Defra’s regular 5 year review of measurements on the national network.

John Freeman, Team Leader of the Pollution Technical Team at Ealing Council, said, "We welcome the addition of new measurement instrumentation and the inclusion of the site on the AURN. This will help the council - and other organisations - to continue working to address the challenges in reducing the PM emissions in the Horn Lane area".

The FDMS replaces the TEOM as the particulate measurement source for the Horn Lane dataset and can be found from here. The TEOM PM10 instrument will remain on site to provide continuity of measurements but data will now be found under its own site name of Horn Lane TEOM, including historical statistics from here.
